Reiki Energy Healing

Reiki is a gentle form of energy healing that involves channelling through the hands. 

In Japanese it means "universal light energy" and everyone who has been attuned can trace their lineage back to it's founder, Dr Mikaso Usui. 

Whilst living as a Buddhist Monk, Mikaso fasted, prayed and mediated for 21 days in a cave. On the 21st day he had a powerful experience where he was made aware of Reiki healing energy, and saw the ancient Sanskrit symbols that helped him develop the practice. 

Reiki energy helps support the bodies own healing abilities and can be deeply relaxing. It can also help remove energetic blocks, and help harmonise the chakra energy centres. 

Reiki can be included as part of a massage, or as a stand alone treatment. 

After receiving a sound bowl as a gift I became interested in the power of healing frequencies, and the impact they can have on our nervous system and energy bodies. 

In 2021 I completed a Sound Bowl Healing Diploma with the College of Sound Healing, and began including bowls in treatments. 

During sound healing the sound waves omitted interact with our brains. The rhythmic patterns encourage our brains to align with the vibrations leading to deep states of relaxation. The vibrations can also clear stagnant energy and allow deeper states of consciousness to be accessed. 

I primarily work with metal Tibetan bowls sourced from a family connected to the College. 

These bowls can be played around or placed on the body, and they add an extra layer to a massage/reiki experience.  During treatments the client is already in a receptive state, so I feel the sound healing can be especially effective. 

Sound baths were also part of my training, and I can also offer a more comprehensive sound bath experience, including crystal bowls and other instruments.
